Smart phones

What is new media?
New media holds out a possibility of on-demand access to content anytime, anywhere, on any digital device, as well as interactive user feedback, creative participation and community formation around the media content. Another important promise of new media is the "democratization" of the creation, publishing, distribution and consumption of media content. What distinguishes new media from traditional media is the digitizing of content into bits.
What is a smart phone?
A Smartphone, or smart phone, is a mobile phone built on a mobile operating system, with more advanced computing capability and connectivity than a feature phone. The first Smartphone’s combined the functions of a personal digital assistant (PDA) with a mobile phone. Later models added the functionality of portable media players, low-end compact digital cameras, pocket video cameras, and GPS navigation units to form one multi-use device. Many modern smart phones also include high-resolution touch screens and web browsers that display standard web pages as well as mobile-optimized sites. High-speed data access is provided by Wi-Fi and mobile broadband. In recent years, the rapid development of mobile app markets and of mobile commerce have been drivers of Smartphone adoption.
Smartphone’s have helped us interact with others wireless while where on the go. Its helped us find locations with the GPS, send pictures within seconds, have internet wherever we go, it has made us feel though our phones are our friends with the Siri option
Smart phones have developed from the old phones as we now know them. If you compare the Nokia 3200 with the Samsung Galaxy S3, we can see hundreds of changes, for example;
·         Colour screens
·         Quad-core processors
·         Internal and external memories
·         Front cameras
·         Higher resolution
·         Incorporated computer systems
·         Internet access
·         Android systems
·         Apps
·         Thinner and larger appearances
·         Touch screens
·         GPS
With Internet being one of new media’s most popular; it makes it 10 times easier to access from almost any device nowadays. You are able to access internet from your Smartphone making it able to access any form of media in the palm of your hand anywhere in the world. Now it’s possible to watch everything through your phone, there are apps created for almost anything, iphone url's made, all to make everything available through a Smartphone.
Smart phones have definitely changed the future for our new generations with the assistance of new media forms. Audiences can access movies and shows on the go in HD quality and can even connect to your computer and smart tv, including newspapers from around the world. Smart phones have made us lazier but at the same time more connected, allowing us to do things and complete tasks we couldn’t have with the old technology forms. We have become lazier with everything in the palm of our hand and with the touch of a finger. With online shopping, we can go grocery shopping with a smart phone and have everything delivered to our doorstep; we can listen to music without going into the store and purchasing a CD. Smartphone’s have managed to take control on so many aspects of our lives, many see this as a great invention but others believe it’s making society even lazier,
